Climate The cold Benguela Current keeps Namibia’s coastal region cool and free from rain throughout the year. The majority of the country’s rainfall occurs between November and April in the country’s interior. The Namib-Naukluft and Etosha national parks experience extreme heat between December and March. This area is mainly desert and is prone to long periods of drought, being hot and dry, with low, erratic rainfall.
